We are practicing attorneys. We have years of federal clerkship, private practice, and in-house experience. We understand attorneys because we are attorneys.
How is your attorney referral service free? Is there a catch?
There is no catch. Whether you use us or find your own attorney, the law firm will pay someone for originating your business. That's the way it works. We are just upfront and honest about it.
How does it work?
It's simple. Fill out the contact form, or reach out by phone or email. We will take your basic information and contact attorneys in our network. When we find attorneys with capacity for your type of work, we will make an introduction. If it's not a match, let us keep searching.
How long does the referral process take?
Referred attorneys will typically respond in 36-48 hours. If your needs are more immediate, we often have ways to contact our referred attorneys that are not available to the public. We tend to be impatient. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a referral for every matter.
Are there attorneys and law firms that you will not recommend?
Yes. Unfortunately, there are many of them.
Can I find an attorney on my own?
Of course. Searching for and evaluating attorneys are generally not core focuses for most clients. If a client is short on time, would like assistance in negotiating rates, or does not know where to look or what to look for in an attorney, we can help.
Do The Law Brokers refer contingency cases?
We refer some contingency cases, including those involving car accidents, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury (permanent disability). We also will refer civil rights cases (e.g., 1983 and Bivens actions) and EEOC cases for attorney review.
Where are your referred law firms located?
The majority of our referred law firms are in the Salt Lake metropolitan area, but we offer our referral services statewide. If we don't have a networked attorney in your area, we will likely be able to find one.
What if my legal need isn't listed on the website?
If your legal matter will be billed at an hourly rate, we can likely still help.
Do you also refer clients to other professionals like Certified Financial Planners (CFP) or accountants?
Yes. We have relationships with both CFPs and accountants. We are happy to refer you to them.
Can The Law Brokers or my referred attorney guarantee the outcome of my matter?
No. Any attorney that guarantees a particular outcome is likely violating the Utah Rules of Professional Conduct.
